Ties - Linnean Society
Ties - Linnean Society
The Linnean Society tie features the Society’s coat of arms embroidered in gold.
The Society’s Arms, Crest and Supporters, with the motto ’Naturae discere mores’ (to learn the ways of Nature), were granted in 1802. A lion and an eagle support the shield with a Mount above it. The Arms were based upon those which Linnaeus had obtained for himself, but changes were incorporated to better represent the aims of the Society.
Originally created in four colours to represent the different areas of study in science, some colours are now sold out and there is limited stock remaining. We recommend stocking up while you still can.
