Our A5 notebooks feature beautiful cover designs using images from our collection. There are four designs to choose from, and our multipacks containing one of each are great value.

Thomas Moore FLS (1821–1887) and Henry Bradbury's (1831–1860) popular collection of nature-printed ferns probably owes much of its success to Victorian Pteridomania, or fern fever. Using a fairly new printing process developed at the Imperial Printing Office in Vienna under the Directorship of Alois Auer, the pair believed that this new method of nature printing was the way forward in displaying accuracy and detail in plants, particularly ferns.

People are so fond of the fern artwork that we have made it available through our print on demand service, offering various sizes and formats.

The back includes a quote from poet Sam Walter Foss:

‘There are thoughts that moan from

the soul of the pine

And thoughts in a flower-bell curled;

And the thoughts that are blown

with the scent of the fern

Are as new and as old as the world.’

— The Bloodless Sportsman
